The midfielder has been out of first team action since June but the manager says he is set to return at the weekend, meaning he could be in the frame for Euro 2016

Arsene Wenger has revealed Jack Wilshere is in line for a long-awaited Arsenal return when the Gunners face Sunderland on Sunday.

The England international has been out of action since June but has featured for the club's reserves and has been training well in recent weeks, though will not make the upcoming clash against West Brom.

The 24-year-old has been tipped to make the England squad for Euro 2016 by manager Roy Hodgson despite his recurring fitness issues and long term absence.

And the midfielder is set to boost his chances, as Wenger says he is returning to fitness and is ready to play again.
